About the Artist

Dr. Danny Womac is a New Orleans–born artist by night and plastic surgeon by day. What began as helping his wife paint wine bottles for their wedding centerpieces sparked an unexpected creative journey—from hand-painted bottles of the New Orleans skyline to full canvases alive with color and texture.

Danny is self-taught, painting in his “studio” when he’s not in the operating room. He primarily works with acrylic on canvas, blending brushwork and palette knife techniques to create layered, textured pieces that are as bold as they are expressive. His style draws from the bright colors and vibrant culture of New Orleans, reimagined through his own interpretation of modern impressionism. Inspired by local artists like Becky Fos, Danny’s work celebrates the energy, joy, and soul of the city that shaped him.

By day, Danny brings that same appreciation for artistry to his work as a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. The connection between art and surgery, between creation and restoration, is inseparable for him. Each requires vision, skill, and a deep respect for form, balance, and beauty. His artistic eye informs his surgical work, and his surgical precision influences his art.

Danny lives in River Ridge with his wife, Alli, their two children, Jude and Marli, and their two dogs, Dublin and Cooper. Together, Danny and Alli are the co-founders of The B.R.E.A.S.T. Fund, a Louisiana-based nonprofit dedicated to helping women cover the out-of-pocket costs of breast reconstruction after cancer treatment. The organization will officially launch in 2026, and 50% of all art print proceeds are proudly donated to support its mission to reshape what reconstruction support looks like.

Danny’s art is a love letter to New Orleans—a city of rhythm, resilience, and radiant color—and each piece is created with the same heart and precision that defines both his artistic and medical work.
